My Taylor Nylon Series guitar was my first foray into quality guitars.  I ordered it from Eric Lindsey in Reigate in August 2005 and collected it from them at the beginning of April 2006.

This particular model is no longer made by Taylor as they currently only offer the nylon guitars in the 3, 6 and 7 series.  It has the usual 5 series wood combination of a Western Red Cedar top and Tropical American Mahogany back and sides.  The Taylor Nylons are more of a hybrid guitar rather than true classicals so are particularly suited to smooth jazz and Bossa Nova and really come into their own when plugged into an acoustic amp.

As I’ve acquired other guitars since this one, I shall probably sell it (if I can) and would like to get hold of a (much cheaper) lefty La Patrie Etude model to satisfy my desire for a nylon guitar.  La Patries are great value and have a good neck (for a classical guitar) so it should be OK for my needs.   I shall probably squirrel the money away for either a BTO Taylor or an R Taylor for when (if ever) I make my mind up.
