You will probably need to go into Excel and reduce the macro security level as the spreadsheet uses Visual Basic code. To change security level:
Excel 2003:
- click on Tools, Macro, Security select the Medium (or Low) setting
- close Excel and re-open it for the security changes to take effect
Excel 2007:
If you have saved the spreadsheet to a folder that is not a Trusted Location, a warning bar will be displayed (below the ribbon) stating Security Warning: Macros have been disabled plus you will also receive an error message each time you attempt to select an option. To add a new trusted location:
- click on the Options... button within the warning bar
- check the option to Enable this content
- click on the link at the bottom left of the same window to Open the Trust Centre
- select Trusted Locations
- click on the Add new location... button and browse to the folder where the BTO sheet is stored
- click OK to return to the spreadsheet
Mac Office 2004:
I think an alert is displayed each time a file with macros (Visual Basic) content is opened and that the alert can be switched on or off under prefs? However, as mac office 2004 uses VBA5 and I'm using VBA6 it may fail anyway and I'm afraid I don't have any experience of using a mac to know if this is the case.
Mac Office 2008:
Unfortunately the spreadsheet will definitely not work on a Mac using Mac Office 2008. All Visual Basic code support was removed from this version of Mac Office. You may like to request a PDF of the spreadsheet instead.
